As our greatest forefather Benjamin Franklin’s veritable quote dictates: “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Unfortunately, in recent times, American citizens have totally overlooked the significance of this proverb and have eschewed in many ways, this general revelation of constitutional conviction.
Nowadays, it seems as though such a multitude of Americans are sacrificing their constitutional rights of privacy and equal protection as outlined in the 14 amendment for the false implementation of corrupt circumstantial bills. As an example, the Patriot Act in myriad ways counters the precepts of moderate government and liberty which our forefathers envisioned. This dream adduced itself as the driving force of true Conservatism. What many Americans fail to understand today, is that the current purview of Conservatism is severly botched. Conservatism itself has metamorphosized from a dogma of preservation and authenticity into a series of codes advocating an autocratic police state.
During the inception of the devastating attacks on our homefront, confusion ran rampant as to discern who was a skulking terrorist and who was a noble patriot. This enervation bungled away much capacitation to reason on a consistent scale. Instead, a plethora of Americans immediately relinquished their reasoning skills and personal beliefs for one set of ubiquitous notions. Not long afterwards, since the President held carte blanche as commander in cheif, his outlook mandated the unquestionable acceptance of views on domestic security. To not jibe with the Bush administratrion’s stances would inflict a feeling of treasonous activity. Americans sacrificed their minds, dignity and beliefs for the sake of ensuring a little bit of temporary security as conforming to the guise of being patriotic Americans. Americans were inelectubly overcome by the domineering pressence of a concentration of power, which the forefathers in all fibers of being, wished to squelch the hardest.
Conservatism has deffenitiely taken a present slue. It is heeded in a whole other outlook than it had been conceieved as in the begenning of the American Revolution. Instead of maintaining checks and balances, impugning the coruptitude of congress by debauched politicians and celebrating the free enterprise of government in all prosperity, Americans have instead given up their sense of entitlement as constitutional citizens, and affirmed trust in a central power only defiling Conservatism with false annexations. Among our forefathers; Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock and Thomas Jefferson- all entertained a conservative dream which has unfortunately become besmirched today. Americans have let slip every premise of father Benjamin Franklin’s parable, in which so many of those individuals who have slashed their tenacity on the ideals of the Constitution, (you know who you are), deserve no protection from its wake whatsoever.

Can you provide specifics, instead of generalities? What exactly is being done today, but would never have been done in the past (overlooking lack of technology)?
