You may not have noticed, but today was election day in some parts of California. Many local issues and candidates were voted on, as well as the 50th Congressional District and 35th State Senate seat.

The 50th Congressional is probably the most interesting and important. This is the seat that the disgraced Duke Cunningham resigned a few months ago.

Liberal Democrat Francine Busby is the clear winner tonight in terms of raw number of votes. But there are 4 reputable republicans on the ballot and only 1 reputable Democrat, so naturally she will win tonight. In the June 6th runoff, however, she will be creamed by the Republican winner. (more…)
